Home remedies for different skin types.
Dry skin:
1.Moisturize: Massage coconut oil onto dry areas before bed.
2.Exfoliate & Hydrate: Mix 1 tbsp honey with 1 tbsp mashed oatmeal. Apply for 15 mins, rinse with warm water.
3.Hydrate from Within: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Combination skin:
1.Cleanse & Target: Use a gentle cleanser. Apply lemon juice (diluted with water for sensitive skin) to your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and a milk & honey mix (1 tbsp each) to dry cheeks/jawline. Rinse after 10 minutes.
2.Exfoliate: Make a paste with gram flour (1 tbsp) and yogurt/milk. Massage gently for 1 minute, rinse with cool water.
3.Moisturize: Apply oil-free moisturizer to T-zone and a richer cream to dry areas.
Oily skin:
1.Cleanse & Absorb: Wash face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Throughout the day, use blotting papers to absorb excess oil without irritating your skin.
2.Exfoliate & Balance: Make a paste with Multani Mitti (Fuller's earth) and rose water. Apply for 10 minutes, rinse with cool water. This helps remove excess oil and tighten pores.
3.Moisturize (Light): Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to prevent overproduction of oil. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid that hydrates without clogging pores.
Sensitive skin:
1.Cleanse & Soothe: Wash with lukewarm water and a paste made from gram flour (besan). Apply chilled rose water as a toner with a cotton pad.
2.Moisturize & Protect: Apply a light layer of cold-pressed coconut oil. Look for SPF protection specifically formulated for sensitive skin - many Indian brands offer these.
3.Less is More: Skip harsh scrubs and fragrances. Opt for chilled cucumber slices as a gentle way to soothe puffiness.
